The first program in our new Lunch & Learn Series--launched in partnership with The Youngstown Foundation--is “Arts & Culture: Driving Our Economy.” A panel discussion moderated by Regional Chamber Foundation Director Michael McGiffin about the role arts and culture play in--and the direct impact they have on--driving our state's and Valley's economies includes:

  • Angela Meleca, Executive Director of Ohio Citizens for the Arts
  • Dan Katona, Deputy Director of the Ohio Arts Council
  • Matt MacLaren, Chief of Tourism Ohio
  • Rebecca Davis, Development Director, Butler Institute of American Art
  • Ken Bigley, Vice President of Business Affairs for JAC Management & JAC Live | Board Member for the Cultural Alliance
  • William Shivers, Regional President of Huntington Bank

2019 data analyzed by the National Endowment for the Arts and Bureau of Economic Analysis illustrates that the arts and cultural industry in the U.S. added 4.3 percent directly to the nation’s GDP, for a total approaching a trillion dollars ($919.7 billion).
