The ESC provides leadership in curriculum, special education and technology, serving 25,000 students in 20 districts and offering professional development for 2,000 teachers each year to advance student achievement countywide.
• Luke Politsky with the Youngstown Business Incubator, now partnered with BRITE Energy Innovators in Warren to expand entrepreneurial services to strengthen opportunities for startups and small businesses across the region.
• Josh Prest of the Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission. Also known as EOMAC, the organization, which champions the region’s military assets, has helped secure nearly $100 million in improvements at the Youngstown Air Reserve State and Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center and more than $900 million in economic impact to the Mahoning Valley since it was created in 2015.
• Char Gardiner, president of Mercy Health-St. Joseph Warren Hospital. Mercy Health recently broke ground on the new Mercy Health–Champion Emergency Center. When it opens in 2026, it will deliver 24/7 emergency care, outpatient imaging and full lab services—bringing life-saving care closer to home. The multimillion-dollar project, built largely with local contractors, strengthens the Valley’s economy while creating jobs and enhancing our region’s appeal as a place to live, work and invest.
